A beautifully preserved French devotional set consisting of an antique crimson leather prayer card case paired with a vintage finger rosary dedicated to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal.
The finely grained leather case is fitted with an ornate silver toned Marian monogram, the intertwined initials “AM,” a traditional symbol for Ave Maria. During the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, these elegant pocket cases accompanied Catholics throughout daily life, protecting treasured prayer cards, holy images, indulgence certificates, and devotional keepsakes carried close to the heart.
Opening the case reveals multiple interior compartments lined in rich crimson silk, thoughtfully designed to organize small sacred papers and devotional images. The compact format made it easy to slip into a pocket or handbag before attending Mass, making a pilgrimage, or visiting a shrine.
