A beautiful vintage French pilgrimage set, preserving both a Lourdes souvenir rosary box and the rosary it has protected for decades.
The embossed aluminum box depicts the apparition of Our Lady of Lourdes appearing to Saint Bernadette before the sacred grotto, framed by lilies and inscribed simply Souvenir Lourdes. These small devotional boxes were sold to pilgrims returning from Lourdes, allowing them to carry home both a blessed rosary and the memory of their pilgrimage.
Nestled inside is a beautifully aged French rosary with softly gilded matte beads, rich bronze toned links, an oval Marian centerpiece, and a graceful Art Deco inspired crucifix. Two luminous ivory accent beads are thoughtfully incorporated into the design, creating a gentle rhythm that highlights the rosary’s quiet elegance. The warm patina throughout speaks to decades of loving use and careful preservation.
